MFO is well respected as the leading Settlement & DV prevention service supporting refugees, migrants and CALD people on the Gold Coast. Established in 1986, the organisation is staffed by a team of professionals with a combined 95 years' experience in delivering services to the multicultural community. MFO's staff comes from 16 different countries and speak around 28 languages between them. MFO has a long history and experience in community development activities, with the work that we do being shaped by the needs of the community. Our approach has always been to build the capacity of the community to respond to its own needs through education and awareness raising and by working with mainstream agencies to improve their cultural competence.
